Unfortunately the lynx touch is a bit more limited than that. If you have the z-wave module installed in the panel it will enable only three specific types of items: switches (binary, dimmer), locks and thermostats. Any non-recognized items (like my flood sensor) show up as failed nodes in their system.
Secondary controller part is a feature of z-wave as well that lets you pair multiple controllers together and have both be able to send and receive signals from devices on the network. Only the primary is able to add and remove nodes, though. The home automation advanced tools area has a somewhat full stack implemented for this: you can do a controller shift which moves your lynx touch from primary and secondary and ports all of your nodes and i believe the homeid onto the other controller, learn to either include it as a secondary controller directly or re-sync nodes from the primary controller and including which will enroll secondary controllers like a normal device when the lynx touch is the primary.
