Synology NAS - lan connection, no IP assigned
« on: September 07, 2014, 02:41:38 am »
I currently have my NAS connected in LAN port 3. When browsing the LCD UI I can see that it has been connected via the 'Status' viewer but I cannot seem to find an IP address assigned to it on either LCD or Web UI.(the fact that the 'Status' view shows LAN ports as <no_ip> is irrelevant because I have another device connected to the A+ via LAN which has been assigned an IP but still states <no_ip>.)

Using a LAN IP scanning tool I was still not able to find an IP address assigned to the NAS.

Any ideas?

Was the NAS set to use a static IP address with your previous router?
It's the only reason I can think of why it doesn't show up, unless you did something like port bonding.
The feature in the LCD UI isn't actually working yet, so please ignore that.
Have you try Synology's OOB tool, i.e. Synology Assistant?

A reset on the Synology fixed things.

Just needed to hard reset the DNS and IP settings I guess.

Thanks a lot for your help.
