As the subject suggests, I'm not able to change these settings from anywhere it seems. I've tried changing them via the connect.securifi.com portal as well as via the admin settings. I am not finding a way to change it AND save those changes. Any help is appreciated.

That's peculiar, it should work via the local web UI. Please see your PM inbox.

I'm having the same issue.  I did a hardware reset just to check.  When I look at the local web GUI, I don't see any options for 802.11 anything.  It's only when I view through the Securifi site that I see the Legacy 802.11 that can not be changed.

Have you tried the local web UI? Go to 10.10.10.254 in a web browser and log in with root/root.

Same issue here.
The web UI (https://connect.securifi.com/home) is showing the legacy mode and clicking the drop-down to select another mode and saving does nothing.

Now, in WRT there is a drop-down for mode, but it doesn't match the mode that the web is showing.  For example it show 11ACVHT80.  So maybe just the web UI not displaying correctly and there is no actual problem?

I am also seeing this, even on beta firmware. It would appear to me that it is a "quirk" in the connect.securifi.com page.

I see different wireless mode settings on each of the 3 config areas -
1) on the device
2)10.10.10.254
3)connect.securifi.com

Wow, I could use a manual.

I also have this problem when using connect.securifi.com.

Honestly, I don't understand the selectable wireless modes as they're named on the local interface.
For example:
11NGHT20 (there's also 40, PLUS, MINUS, etc)
or
11ACVHT80

They're just a mashup of a description.
11 - 802.11 standard
N - Wireless N
G - Wireless G
AC - Wireless AC
HT - High-Throughput
VHT - Very High-Throughput
10/20/40/80 - Channel width (MHz)

PLUS and MINUS are tuners for the top and bottom halves of the channel spectrum, are are supposed to tune performance, but I've never noticed much of a difference between them and using just the standard 11NGHT40.

Here's a channel width breakdown for Wireless AC, you can find similar things for N:

Spatial Streams20 MHz40MHz80MHz
186 Mbps200 Mbps433 Mbps
2173 Mbps400 Mbps866 Mbps
3288.9 Mbps600 Mbps1.3 Gbps

Since the A+ has 3x3 MIMO, the AC connection tops out at 1.3 Gbps (using the 80MHz setting as shown in the table above, thus the 11ACVHT80 setting).  This will also be limited by the card in your computer as well: for instance, mine only supports 2x2 MIMO so I can only utilize a max of 866 Mbps.

Apologies for the very late reply to this thread.

Please note that the only options that matter are those in the local web UI when it comes to the Wi-Fi setting. So if you're not at 10.10.10.254 or whatever IP address you changed your Almond+ to, what you're seeing is not the actual settings. We're still working on fixing this in the cloud service (connect.securifi.com) and in the mobile app UI.
We'll get this stuff simplified over time, as of right now we're using the default settings based on QCA's driver and we're aware that it's confusing.
Tiger Woods explanation above is spot on though.

Please note that connect.securifi.com is NOT the local web UI, it's our cloud service.

You're right though, but I'm the only one really adding content to it and there are only so many days/hours in a week...
