Evolve LRM-AS 120 VAC 500-Watt Wall Mount Dimmer
« on: August 11, 2014, 09:44:17 pm »
Evolve LRM-AS 120 VAC 500-Watt Wall Mount Dimmer was purchased through amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Evolve-LRM-AS-500-Watt-Mount-Dimmer/dp/B006U1TR9I/

Switch was added as a sensor fine. However on the android app and webpage it shows as unsupported device.

Though the Almond+ on screen ui, the device shows Get # and # Set. Clicking set once turns on the switch, number changes to a low number ex 3, clicking set again dims the switch, number changes to a high number ex 97.

I've added it to the list of sensors that we need to test.
We do have support for some types of dimmers, but this one clearly works differently somehow.

Thank you

Please let me know if there is any way I can assist in testing or working with your team to have this module supported.

This sounds very similar to how my Cooper Wiring Devices RF9540-NWS dimmer works(barely) with the almond+ at the moment, hopefully they can both be supported..

Can confirm that the switch pairs fine.  Setting values from 0-99 works where 0 is off and 99 is full brightness.  Setting to 100 or above does nothing.  The number that is returned from setting it to a number doesn't always match what the switch is set to.  Hitting get again seems to fetch the correct number.

BTW, I have a theory for what's going on with the values after a set.  The dimmer ramps to the value you set.  I think the get fires too fast and grabs a intermediate value while the dimmer is still ramping.  So when you do a get once it's done/settled, the value is correct.

Confirmed it is now working great in firmware R070. Needed to re-add/pair sensor after firmware upgrade. Was not able to remove/unpair previous firmware paired sensor.

I have the same device, branded by Linear. WD500Z-1
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00E1OVFAK

I have had no issues using it with R070.

Actually it does behave a little weird. If I use the wall switch to change the state of the light, say turn it off, the A+ doesn't seem to realize this. It still displays as on at 99%. To turn the light on via the app, I have to turn it off (which does nothing, as the light is already off) and then on again. Same issue with changing the brightness of the light with the wall switch. The change is not reflected in the app.

Help! I lost the ability to control my Linear dimmer switch via my A+ so I wanted to re pair it. I had just removed it from the A+ without going through the Zwave Remove step. Now I can't for the life of me get it to do anything when I go through the LCD ui to add sensor. I have tried Remove and Add on the LCD and no amount of clicking the switch seems to make anything happen for either choice. Any ideas how to get this switch working again?

As of now, the Status screen shows 0 z-wave devices. Should the switch still show up here if it is working?

Ok, first of all, you need to unpair/reset/remove the switch.
That means using the Remove option under Add Sensor in the LCD UI on the Almond+ and then following the pairing or unpairing instructions provided by Linear.
Normally their devices only requires a single push of the button, but I don't know if their dimmers are different as I haven't tried them personally.

A Z-Wave device that wasn't unpaired/reset properly can not be paired again, as this is part of how Z-Wave works. A "reset" by cutting the power or similar isn't going to help either.
