Loosing WAN-Connection
« on: September 19, 2014, 01:49:37 am »
Hello,

I just received my Almond+ and wanted to replace my old E2000.
Actually the Almond works fine for about half an  hour, but
then looses WAN-connectivity.
Wired and Wireless Connections to the Almond+ are kept,
but no connection to the WAN.
I have to cold restart the router, so that I get another ca. 30 minutes internet.

Anyone else facing this problem? I do not find any hint in the syslogs :(

Regards,
Gunther

Just to check, the cable is inserted properly into the WAN port?
Not sure what's going on here. Have you updated to firmware R065?

Yes, everything fine connected :(
Trying to send log to local logserver, maybe that could reveal the problem.

So, here are new details:

Almond IP 192.168.1.1
Subnet 255.255.0.0

If I turn WLAN 2,4 GHz on, first external Connection (to WAN) gets lost, then no more connection to router.
If I turn off WLAN 2,4 via LCD, connection comes back.
Tried with WPA2 and no enc, both show same error.

No such issues by now with 5 Ghz.

Interesting, we had something similar reported, but the opposite.
We'll look into what might be causing this issue.

I must add, that if I start the 2,4 GHz Guest network via Touchscreen,
all Connections get lost but come back after 15 seconds.

Must be a problem with 2,4 GHz on/off toggle ?!

R066 is actually the latest firmware, but it's not likely to fix this issue, but you can give it a try http://forum.securifi.com/index.php/topic,1883.0.html

Hello,

it did not fix the issue. Actually I must say, that 1/4 of my connections need 2 GHz, so at the moment I cannot used 1/4 of my periphery.
Can you send me a bug fix or replace the unit, as this seems tobe a porblem of my unit!? Actually I must state, that a working WLAN is one of the main functions of a WLAN-Router  :o

Kind Regards,
Gunther

Well aware of that. I'm having someone from the software team get in touch with you to see what's going on, since shipping replacements to Austria is a pain, since customs will want to charge you again for importing another item and for replacements you have to contact them first.
Let's see if we can try to figure out what's going on first, if that's ok with you.

Hi Lars,

sorry, but I want to have my Almond+ replaced.
I am now waiting for 2 weeks for a solution.
No call from a technician  by now.
Without WLAN my Router is useless.

Regards,
Gunther
