Global Cache GC-100
« on: August 14, 2014, 07:10:23 pm »
For those of us with older existing Home Automation systems in place, a very common unit in the past was a Global Cache GC-100.  I have the Model 12, which is an IP connected controller that has 6x IR ports, 3x Relay ports and 2x Serial ports.  I would love to be able to use my Almond+ to activate the relays I have wired (garage door opener, outside patio lights via PowerSwitch Tail) as well as a gateway for IR & serial remotes in the home theatre, allowing these devices to be incorporated into Scheduling & Scenes.

Global Cache provides their API here:  http://www.globalcache.com/files/docs/API-GC-100.pdf

It's not something we'll be implementing, but we're working on some bridge software for IP devices which we'll be releasing to the developers and this will hopefully allow for support for something like this to be developed.
