Support for other sensors
« on: August 07, 2014, 08:57:41 am »
What is involved with adding support for other types of Z-wave or Zigbee sensors?  Will users always have to wait for support to be added by Securifi or is there XML or other types of configuration files which a knowledgeable person could use to configure a new device?  Does it always involve some programming?  What type of programming is involved?  Will it use the announced SDK or will it require another Sensor SDK?

I am curious about this too!

Seems crazy for Securifi to have to actually have each device in their possession and manually add it! that will never end up supporting all Z-wave products..

Please give us the power to add them ourselves!

Just because a sensor isn't in their list, doesn't mean it won't work. That's just a list of ones that have been tested or reported working by users. I'm working on trying to shoehorn the Iris sensors (well, the smartplug and the window/door sensor) in. (and no, it won't be easy, but I knew that going in)

Yes for simple single input or output devices but not for more complex devices such as multi-sensors, thermostats, locks, etc.

When your A+ arrives (I saw from KS you're waiting on yours still), I suggest trying the sensor/thermostat/whatever first. :-)
