5 GHz has 0% signal and devices ignore
« on: August 16, 2014, 05:08:38 pm »
Hello,

I've looked for this problem and I thought I saw someone else mention it, but now I can't locate it.  On my Almond+ when I did a factory reset and setup my wifi connections (Same SSID and WPA2 key) initially everything works great.  My HTC One connects at 433 Mbps so I know AC is working fine.  However, after an hour or so OpenWRT reports that the signal for wlan0 shows up as 0% and my phone only tries to connect to wlan1.  I added a deny MAC filter for my phone to wlan1 as a work around and it connects to wlan0.  I wanted to know if this is one of these two known issues listed in the Firmware R065 post:

5GHz Wi-Fi disconnects on some devices
Wi-Fi performance is still not optimized

Also, is there a better way to force a client to use a particular interface?  Hopefully this work around will help people using the same SSID to get AC speeds.

Thanks.

Not quite, I have an HTC One and can't say I've seen this issue.
The 0% bug is a UI bug in OpenWRT and shouldn't affect the Wi-Fi at all.
