Additional File Systems for mounting/Samba/FTP

crashelite:
I would love to see the ability to mount HFS and HFSPlus drives (mac os Drives)

i tried to manually mount it "mount -t hfsplus /dev/sda1 /mnt/usb" and it seems to be missing the filesystem to mount the drive (most linux servers need hfsprogs to mount it.

LGNilsson:
Sorry, but we're not planning support for HFS as Apple is moving to Samba.
We'll be implementing better/working Samba support for OS X though.

crashelite:
HFS/HFS+ as Hierarchical File System not HTTP File Server.

All that should be needed is kmod-fs-hfsplus :)

LGNilsson:
It's not quite that simple and Samba is not just an HTTP file server for that matter.
We're not against someone creating support for it, but we will not be doing this in-house.

RobLewis:
This is the first I've heard that "Apple is moving to SAMBA". What does that even mean? I have heard nothing about them abandoning HFS+. And OS X has supported SAMBA as a way of accessing Windows systems for a long time.

I think I'm right in saying that SAMBA is a network file access protocol that AFAIK has nothing to do with the file system on the disk, which could be HFS+ (Mac), NTFS (native Windows), FAT32 (older Microsoft), ext3 or ext4 (Linux), or even ZFS.

So the question is: which FILE SYSTEMS are supported, not which access protocols.
