Any Kickstarter backers for Almond+ seeking refund?
« on: May 01, 2014, 01:16:26 am »
First of all - my apologies if this is not allowed here, so mods feel free to remove if not.

I just wanted to see if there were any Kickstarter backers for the Almond+ here, who wanted to withdraw their backing - I am keen to get my hands on one, so would be happy to take up your pledge.

Note however, that I am after the AU/NZ/HK version (which supports the 921.42 MHz freq).

(I noticed on the Kickstarter page that a few people have asked for refunds - but I have no way of contacting them there.)

Thanks for reading.

Well I don't think it should be a problem to post the question, you posted in the General forum so, here goes most things.

Regarding your question, I have seen quite a few people talking about refunds, and as far as I know Securifi has honored each one of them.
Not that I understand those who wants out, but I doubt they are on this forum. However since the guys from Securifi are also here, they might hook you up with someone who wants out, so it is a good place to ask, in case this is something doable. ;-)

I was also gutted that I missed out on the Kickstarter funding. I would be keen to take up anyone seeking a refund on the AU/NZ/HK version.

Would love to support and get my hands on a Almond+

I've tried contacting the Securifi team, but while they were very responsive and friendly, they couldn't really help me. They pretty much told me it was up to me to contact and make any arrangements with the backers directly. Can't blame them really, as they seem to have their hands full as it is.

If anyone has any further tips or suggestions on how I can get my hands on one, then please let me know! I would be very grateful.

There are some backers on the forum that may not want the Almond+ anymore. One is in this thred, this is his post:

Thanks for the reply, but I can't seem to get to that post - I get a message saying the topic is "either missing or off limits to you". Maybe the topic got closed down? Or maybe I don't have sufficient privileges to view that topic.

Strange... the link work for me... The thread is in the Almond+ forum, and is titled "how close are we to a shipping date"...

It should work now, we have some anti spam measurements in place that prevents members with less than five posts from accessing certain parts of the forum, but there was a glitch that meant the post count didn't move ache up to the next user level. Apologies about that.

Thanks. All sorted - and that link from VJ works for me now.

I'm still open to anyone who wants a refund though... :)

I am in the same position, would like to talk to anybody wanting to back out to take their place to get the unit, but I only need the US protocols.

If two of us work out a change in "place in line", is there some way to formally do that such that I become the backer?  I've been approached by someone to get their gear, but would only be interested if I could replace them as a backer for a variety of reasons.

You can get them on eBay, although they are going for a premium of roughly $150. Once they are released at their regular price, eBay prices will most likely go up as well.
