screen always on?
« on: August 26, 2014, 10:34:51 am »
Hi,

I'm not sure if this has been asked before and I couldnt find answer anywhere on the forum. Is it save to keep the LCD turn on 24/7 or is there a setting to let it auto sleep (like the blank screen option)? I notice that the blank screen doesnt really turn off the LCD.

Also, do we need to turn off the router occasionally for it to rest? Or it will be ok to be turned on 24/7 for years. Sorry for the noobie question and I was hope to find this kind of things in FAQ

This is the behavior of the LCD from older versions of the firmware.  The R065 version enabled the screen to automatically shut off completely.  You may want to verify what version of the firmware you are running.

See http://forum.securifi.com/index.php/topic,1396.0.html for more information on how to update your firmware.

Excellent to hear!  The newer firmware also fixed a lot of other issues.  Keep in mind that the product is relatively new and the Securifi team is working on newer versions of firmware.  Fortunately, the community here is fairly active to help look into trouble that users may be experiencing.
