Almond+ hiding SSID broadcast
« on: July 11, 2014, 10:08:28 pm »
hi all,

Super excited I got my almond+ in the mail today.  However when I set it up I can't figure out for the life of me how to stop broadcasting my ssid.  I've been through the web interface and the interface on the router and I can't find the setting.  can anyone help?

Sadly, that's something we've missed, we'll get it added to a list of priorities to add in the next couple of firmware releases.

 This feature will be added in our next firmware release. You can do through command line interface now. please find the step below.

1. SSH in to Almond plus and access it terminal [ you can use any application such as teraterm or putty]

2. Type following command in almond plus terminal for hiding it's SSID's

 * For hiding 2.4 GHz SSID

Code: [Select]
iwpriv wlan10 hide_ssid 1
* For hiding 5GHz SSID

Code: [Select]
  iwpriv wlan00 hide_ssid 1
             *

I just wanted to let you all know that this still seems to work in R066.  The only caveat is that anytime the almond+ is reset or resets due to configuration changes, the setting doesn't always stick so you have to SSH in again and redo the commands to hide.  I'm sure it'll get fixed in future updates, but so far I'm loving this thing!
Great work Securifi team!
