Blinds control
« on: September 27, 2014, 01:46:13 pm »
Hi, hope that someone can help me out.

I am about to receive my Almond+ next week and one of the things I want is to control the blinds. They are already motorized and controlled with a 2 button switch, up and down.

Does anyone happen to know a Zigbee or Z-Wave peripheral just for that so that I can open and close the blinds at a predetermined hour as the sun starts ho enter my living room ? The next step will be to include e light sensor but one thing at a time.

Thanks

Not sure how compatible it is with the Almond+ at the moment, but this looks like exactly what you are looking for. The price is not very attractive though.

Sorry rpr69 but I cannot see any link in your post.

I already found 2 controls that might work but, as I understand, Almond+ has only sensors support for the moment and what is needed is Home Automation support.

Am I right ?

Thanks

Not really, we need to have support for the specific controller.
We have the Fibaro one, we just haven't added support for it as yet, but it's coming.
As for other options, we'll see what we can support.

Lars, thanks but I have a comment.

From what I see in Fibaro, this is just the control but It's have to have the manual control also.

I have found 2 german and an italian company with these controls (the italians are beautiful).

Here they are:

http://products.z-wavealliance.org/products/7

Both can be controlled manually.

Sorry, but both are going to be extremely hard for us to get hold of and Vitrium, that'll be like €300... I'm not kidding...

I have Vitrium's price list and it's far from 300€. I'll be glad to send you the price list.

The other one is about 60€ including the frame, not expensive.

The prices I've seen in the UK for their power switches are in that price range once you add the cover. Maybe this is a bit cheaper, but they have some of the most expensive Z-Wave devices I've ever come across.
Well, it's £198 without the cover so... http://www.vitrumuk.co.uk/product/vitrum-ii-din-roller-blinds-control-wireless/
