Same name for 5GHz and 2.4 GHz wifi networks?
« on: October 07, 2014, 05:55:44 am »
Hi,
I just want to confirm if it will be ok to use the same name & password for both 5GHz and 2.4 GHz wifi networks, so that my devices can atomically switch between 5GHz and 2.4 GHz depending of their capabilities. I mainly use apple products (iPhone 5s & 4s, iPad air, Ipad 4, iPad mini, mac mini, apple tvs, macbook pro )
Thanks!

Yes, you can have the same network name (SSID) and password for both networks.
Just note that Wi-Fi isn't very smart and might not switch between the two as you'd expect. This is a Wi-Fi limitation.
