Unstable connections, new IP addresses
« on: October 02, 2014, 08:42:52 pm »
I have the almond+ set up as a wireless range extender. It is only about 10 feet away from the router, however, and it has a very strong signal. I am frequently disconnected from the almond+ service on 2.4 wifi and when I check the almond+ it often indicates no internet connection. Whenever I am away from home I check the almond+ when I get back and see that it has a new internal ip address from my router. I have tried setting a static ip address in my router interface (a Motorola SBG6580 on Comcast service) but it just releases it irregularly. I have other devices with static leases that I set directly from the devices without any issues. I notice the disconnections when I am streaming services usually, sometimes they occur several per minute sometimes they don't occur for hours. Occasionally after the signal is lost it won't reconnect without me rebooting my almond+ and router. Any ideas? Thanks!
