alignment of ethernet sockets and jacks
« on: October 23, 2014, 05:22:38 pm »
With the recent trial Almond+ unit, I seem to be having some hardware related problems with ethernet ports.

It is difficult to connect an ethernet cable to either the WAN port or LAN 1-2 and have it connect reliably. I have tried the cable supplied and two others both with and without plastic boot.
I find that when the router is left in standing position, with kickstand and ethernet cable attached to WAN port, the cable often comes out with around 12-24 hours of use.

Symptoms - the green connected led's often fail to light when a connection is not properly made, or is lost after several hours of use.  There may be no clicking as the ethernet cable locks into place.

Any suggestions?  I'm wondering if the next step would be to use on the side, bluetack.  I am starting to wonder whether next step might be to open case and reposition the board.
