Almond is offline message on app?
« on: November 09, 2014, 09:22:55 pm »
So almost every morning when I'm about to leave and trying to turn the garage light off, I touch the icon to turn the light off in the app and it tries to update and then returns a message 'Almond is offline'.  What's odd is that if I manually turn the light off, the app updates properly and is clearly connecting to the cloud properly as well. I'm using the android app and I get the same message from time to time on the iOS app as well.  Is this related to something that I've done improperly on the A+ or is it something on the cloud side?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hiero,

Thank you for acknowledging us, this has nothing to do with setup but a problem we are aware of  at our cloud end. We will be fixing this issue soon.

+1 on this issue. Since r70 it happens every couple days and I have to restart the router a couple times for it to come back.

Is there plans for if you are home where you can connect directly to your almond+ from the app? It would be nice just in case your cloud goes down or even my home internet I can still control my devices.

It has been mentioned before however it requires quite a bit of updating to the current system. I know it was mentioned that they would look into it but that it wasn't a priority. For me personally it isn't a big deal because if that were to happen, I would use the TouchUI when needed and hopefully soon most / many of my tasks are automated through scenes / rules and local scene controllers and switches. For those concerns however, the rules are all saved locally so that you don't need to worry about a lost connection to the cloud and one of the nicest things about the system is obviously the touch screen for the same reason.

Zexon,

Can you shed some more light about the problem, we have solved it, but may be not. When the Almond is shown as offline, if you change a sensor name/location in the LCD, is it updating in the app? Or you dont see any changes propagating from Almond LCD to app? Please  send us logs before you reboot the Almond when you see Almond Offline in the app.

Today when it happened it did not update the app like I had seen in the past. I ran diagnostics and it passed... After a couple of tries. Here are my log files.
