A Different Use
« on: December 03, 2014, 02:21:45 am »
Hello.  I'm very interested in the Almond for a specific purpose.  I'd like to use the Almond to access an IP camera with my iPhone.  This is normally pretty easy stuff for me but now I'm doing some traveling and am finding myself needing this setup while staying at a hotel or at a family member/friend's house when connecting to the internet may not be an option.  Can I use the Almond as simply a router to access the IP camera without an internet connection?  I understand that my iPhone would need to be within range of the router at all times for this.  (port forwarding will not work in this scenario.)  If this is possible, how would I need to have it configured?

I'm also wondering if I can do something similar . . . make a hard drive available to a wireless device via the Almond, again, without having an internet connection set up with the router.

Thanks in advance for any help!
-Dave
