Scenes?
« on: January 08, 2015, 11:48:05 am »
Hi Lars (as you seem to be the main guy here :) )

Could you tell me if adding scenes is somewhere on the todo list?
Automation is cool, but being able to trigger a whole bunch of light setting with one button push is extremely useful and in my experience used more often then automation rules.

thanks,
activ

Jup,
would be a great (advanced) option vs the current rules layout wich would become really cumbersome with many inputs and outputs.

with the current lay out in mind I can imagine a "scenario" sub page that defines the combination of inputs, and outputs respectively

Scenes to come late. Only a little blue about scenes coming later in this post by Lars.

You can fake a scene now by adding multiple "Then" to a single "If".
After you've added the first action, just click on another one and it'll be added.
You can also have multiple triggers.

But yes, scenes are on the to do list, but let's get the rules UI done first, ok?

Yes of course, one thing at a time. The only reason I'm asking now is because I was expecting scenes to be part of the automation update.

As for being able to fake scenes now, I don't thnk I can. What I want to use scenes for is to define a preset dim level for several lamps and then switch them all on with one button press (and to the defined dim level). As far as I have seen now there is no "trigger by button press" in the current automation.

b.t.w. is the keyfob still for sale somewhere? Then I could use that to trigger the automation and use it as a scene.
