ac is not broadcasting
« on: January 10, 2015, 09:27:12 pm »
I just received it today and I set up as a new access point connected to FiOS. While set up I can see 2.4 and 5 G network are there but no AC. I thought it has b,g,n and ac. Am I missing something?

Are you sure? But when I called CS, he told me no AC right now but in new firmware update, will get the ac capability and it is still in process.

I am running my 5G on following mode: 11ACVHT80. So it is ac mode?

Really? Who told you that? We've had 802.11ac working for well over a year by now, so that's an odd reply from the support team.

And yes, your settings are correct.

What we haven't had is CPU offloading, but that's part of the R069cb release.

Ok Thank you for your clarification.

I am using my old HP computer (only a,b,g,n) and it is connected to this network  I thought It will show me something like "ac" when you check the wireless properties. Right now my HP showing me it's connected to this 5G network  and when I click wireless properties it showing me 802...n.  So that's why I am confused and concern. I am not an expert.

I have FIOS at my home. I will check with my phone (which has ac capabilities )to verify the speed.

If your device only can see N, that's all you will be able to see. On my laptop with an AC card, it shows the network type as AC.
The Almond+ uses a compatibility mode so older devices can connect. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to connect via 5ghz at all without an AC compatible device.
