Home versus away
« on: March 14, 2015, 09:46:37 pm »
I am looking to incorporate "home" versus "Away" into rules. Having programmed on an off times for 4 different rooms that are now active, I need to be able to suspend the rules while we're home. I don't see a suspend option, but if there was a way to link the commands to "away" state, that should work.

The home/away for notifications are set up in the app. It's fully implemented in the Android app, but we're still working on the iOS app as there are a few bugs that they're working on solving alongside the beta testers.
You'd enable the notifications by tapping on the spanner on the right hand side of the senor and then select under Notify me either Always, Away or Off. If you select always, you always get notifications from a device/sensor, away means that you'd only get notifications when you set the Almond+ to away mode, either via the app or the Connected Sensors app in the LCD UI.
Hopefully this clears things up a bit.

Thanks. I was more looking at setting up rules for actions that would be active when away and held when home. Will rules be able to be state-dependent in this way? I don't need timed lights to go on and off when home, for example.

As far as I'm aware, yes, that's the plan.

So now we have home and away, and inactive and active for rules. When can we have rules active when away, inactive when home? etc

hi i use securifi keyfob to activate and deactivate my home and away mode..My rule is" if arm perimeter +door open then turn on siren " and "If dearm then turn off siren" and i created a second rule with same button like "if arm perimeter then turn on away mode" and If dearm pressed then turn on home mode" ..so once i press arm mode it will turn on siren if the door open and activate the away mode ..and vice versa if i press dearm mode then turn off siren and activate home mode..

thanks

[...]My rule is" if arm perimeter +door open then turn on siren " [...]

Isn't it more logical to use "If mode away + door open then turn on siren"?

If you have more then one keyfob, I don't think your rule would work, because the status of the keyfobs aren't synchronized.

I'd settle for a condition that says "if mode is away". Where is that?

If you create a new rule, you can select the mode for your IF

I'm on the latest R076.  Don't know if it was available in R072 already, but I think so...
