release 70 and the Leviton Zwave switch
« on: February 11, 2015, 08:52:58 am »
The leviton decora Zwave switch is still showing as an unsupported device in this new firmware. :( Maybe next firmware update?
As always, love the Almond+. I can't wait for all the bugs to be worked out.

Just tested the Leviton DZS15 binary switch.  No joy  :'(  Any ETA on support for them?

Sorry guys, most of our team that's involved with the Z-Wave have been working on the rules and scenes, so it's been slow progress on sensor support.
We have a new-ish guy that's taking over sensor support, so things have started to move forward again. I'm afraid I don't have an ETA yet, but I'll see what I can do.

Now that the Leviton Z-Wave Decora switches work, do they support instant status? It seems that there are various threads on the internet, like this one:

But they all debate whether this line has instant status or not.

Sorry, but what's instant status?

Sorry, but what's instant status?
It is a command in zwave that was patented and only leviton and cooper officially have it iirc.
What it does is let the controller know the status of a switch or outlet or whatever has changed by expressly telling the controller rather than waiting for the controller to get around to polling the switch.

For example if you want to have something happen in addition to turning on a light you could make a scene and with instant status it would all happen.... Instantly! Otherwise you are waiting for the controller to get around to polling the switch before it realizes it had been turned on and now your scene is really slow.

The newer (cheaper) version of the leviton switches seem to have a different way of doing this though.
I think this way is what people are wanting to see if securifi can get working.

If it's not part of the Z-Wave standard, we're most likely not going to support it, especially if it's patented by one company and no-one else uses it.

It is part of the standard from what I understand.
Look at the command class hail.
