Is firmware available for download and install via the webui rather than having to use the lcd?

Would love to push the new firmware from my chair instead of going to the unit.

I prefer the download/web update also.  Not JUST because I can do it from my chair, but then in the future if R73 has problems I could always downgrade back to R72.  If R72 is ONLY available via the LCD, I lose this option.  It is nice to have a couple of older, known stable firmwares around just in case.  Please consider this downside of making a firmware only available via the LCD, and restore the download option in the future.

I was digging around the OpenWRT menu last night, and saw a menu option to back up firmware. Might be possible to create a backup copy of R72, before upgrading to a future release. Not sure if this would just backup OpenWRT, leaving NutOS alone though.

After this, you can upgrade to R072 through the LCD via the Settings menu.

Like bwainscott I would also prefer the option to download updates and apply them remotely. For when I am on a trip for example. Other "related" options would include:
1) Feature on Web UI to get and (if desired) apply the latest version. Bonus points if available to be triggered via App or Cloud.
2) Complete local UI (LUI or LCD, whatever one calls it) replication in the Web UI. So I can remotely work through anything someone is doing locally. Useful for support purposes andwhen some thints are not entirely available in all interfaces.

I'll throw my hat into the ring and add that I would also like to be able to upgrade via the web ui. Too many issues can come up via the lcd (failed upgrade etc)  that I'd much rather have the control to do it locally. I'll probably stay on R70as until I can download the firmware myself.

I got back from my trip (thus the need for remote upgrade) and was able to upgrade without trouble from the LCD. No problems that I can attribute to R072.

I did decide to remove every sensor (one at a time from the LCD) then, after they were all gone, did Remove All to purge everything. It had been so long since all of them were added I wanted to make sure they were all being supported as much as possible. Long story short... I have a lot of work to do. Very few have been able to be joined back in readily so I am having to reset almost everything (only the GE Wink Bulbs could be added back on immediately).

It also looks like I also have battery replacements to do for my ZigBee sensors.

Well, best we can do is hope management learns a thing or 2:
1) This is a router and home automation system. Meant primarily to wirelessly and easily control your network and as much of your home. Remotely. Why else would there be such focus on remote using the Cloud and Apps?
2) Not being able to remotely update firmware is contrary to that primary task.

If they want us to "test" the local update capability, fine. Happy to. Just ask. But let me use the router the way it is intended... Remotely.

Well at some point firmware updates should become rare (not soon, but eventually), so the added inconvenience should not be a big deal.  I just never want to get to the point where I get a bad firmware update and there is no way to roll back to a known working version.  Having a known good firmware sitting on my laptop ready to go is very reassuring.  I'd rather not have to downgrade from R204 to R70as because that was the last firmware of which I have a copy.

Count me as another vote for downloadable firmware. There are many reasons that file might be necessary and I can see very few reasons to withhold it from Securifi customers.

Maybe maintaining a set of "stable" releases people could use. Clearly denoting what they are for and when they came out.

Is that a typo about version R204? Sounds like Almond, not Almond+ (this section). No need to add to the confusion...
