Wireless Issues in general with routers and devices..
« on: April 07, 2015, 12:19:10 pm »
Wirelesss is a messy area in computing.. partially because theres a lot of proprietary/hidden information on devices.. Devices are supposed to be interoperable but even the device vendor, usually does not have COMPLETE access to the devices driver.. Theres a lot of what would be called a "binary blob" with drivers on any platform, where the only person who knows the full picture is the original chipset vendor and its basically sealed from the peripheral vendor (they have access to some of it, but other pieces they basically can only get input and output)..  Broadcomm and Intel are NOTORIOUS for this...  Its a problem with the industry that basically is rearing its ugly head all the way to the end user.. Its a major problem with Linux and wireless compatibility and its mostly due to this. Most peripheral vendors are at the mercy of chipset vendors (Joltdude)

Chromebooks are having issues too folks..
