Connecting to a U-Verse router with Mac filtering enabled
« on: April 15, 2015, 12:08:22 pm »
Just bought an Almond based on extremely positive reviews.  Setup went smoothly - until the very last step.  It could not find a IP address and, therefore, failed to connect.  I use MAC filtering on my AT&T U-Verse router (double level of security:  password plus only allowed devices can access my network).  I entered the WiFi Mac address of the Almond into the allowed devices, saved the updated configuration but Almond would not connect - until I disabled MAC filtering.

Thoughts?

Thanks, Carl

@ Hiker44,

When we add the Mac address of the Almond on the router, the last digit/character in that address should be set to its next level, for e,g, if the Mac address of Almond is E4:71:85:12:34:56, you need to enter it as E4:71:85:12:34:57, if it's E4:71:85:12:34:AB, you need to enter it as E4:71:85:12:34:AC.
