Weather App
« on: April 13, 2015, 07:47:48 am »
Normally, I tuck my router behind things and prefer to use the web interface and android apps to do things.

However, recently I embraced the LCD of the Almond+ more and put it out in the open.

I have to say that I like the weather app  because I can leave that on the screen so its useful out in the open.

Unfortunately, the weather app stopped working for me this weekend. I've been on R072 for a while already and had the weather app stay up on the screen. However for the weekend the weather app doesn't connect anymore, just stays in a mode of looking for local weather.

It should be back up and running now.

Will it be possible to choose different regions. Now it shows weather for Helsinki, which is at least the right country for me. But I live 700km north of Helsinki, so weather differ much from what's shown on Almond+. Also, would it be possible to include info about wind, cloudy/sun/dark and precipitation?

It's based on your IP address, so you might want to check with your ISP. That said, an offset is something we've looked at.
The plan is to improve things and add more weather data, but I'm not sure when this will come.

Without checking with my ISP, I presume their server is in Helsinki, because I'm on 4G LTE broadband. So it would be nice if I could set location manually.

I think it would be nicer if the time is also showing on the weather screen. Right now we have to choose which one (weather or time) we want to display on the screen. I like the weather displaying on my almond+ but I also need the time.
