Can someone explain how all the pieces work

There is the A+ hardware. This is not connected to a 'cloud'.

Then there is the A+ app and the connect.securifi.com website.

How does the app and website connect and communicate to the A+?  Are these dependent on a Securifi cloud? If Securifi folds does that mean the only way to manage the A+ is via the A+?

I'm trying to understand why the app or website have difficulty attaining proper status or even connecting to the A+...

There is the A+, the Android and iOS Apps, "the cloud", a cloud-based website (https://connect.securifi.com/), and an A+ served website (http://10.10.10.254/cgi-bin/luci). Only the latter does not use the cloud, the rest use/require the cloud to send sensor data/state/commands. The App is getting a "local control" feature, promised 1-2 months out.
