Static IP address
« on: April 08, 2015, 10:41:11 am »
I run lot of devices on the wifi and prefer to assign static IP address for them. However, i get a message stating that the static ip leases shall not exceed 20?
Why would there be this restriction? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

That is odd. Maybe it's just a misleading error message? You can try configuring it manually in /etc/config/dhcp and then doing

/etc/init.d/dnsmasq reload

I had 19, so I added a couple more just to test, and it worked fine. I've been manually editing that file anyway since I never got them to show back up in the web interface after setting them back in R6X (don't even remember exactly which).

Yes I edited the file manually but it does not show up on the Web interface. Very odd but I will check whether it takes effect.

Apparently this is a dnsmasq and LUCI framework limit with the versions we're using.

Any chance that this can be increased?   I'd prefer to set most IP addresses directly, so I can see the "newbies" on my LAN easily.
