RGB Led Bulbs
« on: December 22, 2014, 11:15:18 am »
This link has bulbs that it states are wifi compatible (I am looking into it) was wondering if any has experience with these and if wifi devices will ever be included in the almond+. These are currently at a great price point (`$26) and would make a nice addition to certain rooms. Thanks! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA61X26V6057

I can't find any info on how the bulbs are wifi compatible, other than they supposedly are.
You might be able to get them cheaper from the manufacturer, and you may be able to contact them and see what they use to control the bulbs.

I believe these are the same as the LimitlessLED system. I have integrated full functionality into my mochad port, but as you can't currently (officially) create new devices within the A+ infrastructure, I currently just use an X10 controller for on/off, and the android LLED app for full functionality. When A+ adds non-beta Hue support, I will probably write an (unofficial) set of bindings to make them look like a Hue bulb to the A+ software. (It's actually because I am waiting for the better wifi drivers to update my firmware, but I imagine both with come with R070)

Anyway, the LimitlessLED page has a nice description of the tcp API for communicating with the hub.

Thanks for the replies, I couldn't find much info originally either and I'll check that brand out. Thanks!
