Unable to reach Web UI
« on: June 10, 2015, 02:57:21 pm »
Hi,

I am attempting to update the software on my Almond.  I cannot connect to my wireless network, so I plugged the Almond into my router via Ethernet, downloaded the new software, and attempted to navigate to http://10.10.10.254 to access the Web UI.  No luck.

I have done a factory reset...twice.

Thank you for your assistance.

MD

@ MichaelD,

Ensure that the device which you have connected is receiving the proper IP Address and Default Gateway from Almond. You may tap on More-->Web Administer, sometimes you may find the IP Address as 20.10.10.254.

@Ashok,

Thank you for your reply.  I received 20.10.10.254 the first time I tried to access the Web UI.  That did not work.  I did a factory reset and received 10.10.10.254.  That didn't work either.

What should the default gateway be and where do I find that?

Thank you!

@ MichaelD,

Default gateway is the IP address of the Almond, device which is connected to Almond hardwired should receive the default gateway as 10.10.10.254. Could you please recheck your device which is connected to Almond whether it is receiving the IP address and default gateway properly and if possible try to check with any other device.

Thanks, Ashok.

I have my Almond plugged directly into my wifi/router.  How do I determine if the "device" is receiving the gateway?

I am then going to my laptop which is connected to my network via wifi and attempting to access the Web UI.

I have the software downloaded to my laptop.  Is there any way to directly plug the Almond into my laptop and update that way?

@ MichaelD,.

You are connecting the laptop to your main wifi network running on a different IP address and we would not be able to access the Web UI of Almond. Try to connect your laptop to the Almond's wifi network even though you may not have the access to the internet, you can still access the Web UI to upload the software.

Yes, you can also connect the laptop directly to the Almond's LAN port (black) to update the software by accessing the Almond's Web UI.

I tried connecting to the Almond's wifi network via my laptop with the Almond plugged in to my main router and still cannot access the Web UI at 10.10.10.254.  I have the ethernet cable connect to the grey port on the Almond and one of the ports on the back of my router.

I also plugged the Almond directly into my laptop and plugged the cable into one of the black ports on the Almond.  When I tried to access the Web UI, I received an error stating I needed a user name to access site.

Sorry, but  I am really at a loss, here.

Thank you.

@ MichaelD,

You actually got it, when it is asking for username and password check under "Web Administer" and enter them, by default username and password would be lower case admin.

To clarify what Ashok said. . Go to status - web admin on the LCD screen and it will give you the current user/password to access the web UI

@Ashok,

I apologize that I wasn't clearer.  The error message in my browser asking for username does not give me the option to enter a user name nor does it look anything like the log in screen to the Web UI that is presented on your site.
