Linear WD500Z-1 with WT00Z-1 not working
« on: May 29, 2015, 10:15:55 pm »
Hi, I have a standard 3-way switch setup with 2 standard switches. Today I put the Linear WD500Z-1 in one box and instantly it was found by the Almond+ as a dimmer switch. I then put the linear WT00Z-1 switch in the other old 3-way box. I connected the traveler wires in that box to themselves. The Almond+ sees that switch as an unrecognizable switch and it doesn't do anything. These are for dimmable led lights.

1st question is I can't seem to get a definite answer on here if the WT00Z-1 switch is supported.
2nd question is can I use that switch in an original 3-way switch, and if so what do I do with the traveler wires.

Thanks for any help

Dave

Not Securifi support... but:
1) The WT00Z-1 switch is not yet supported. Lars had mentioned previously it was one that would eventually be in, but it has not been listed in any of the couple releases since that time.
2) The 3-way function is "virtual". So no, it will not control an original 3-way area. It is meant to control another Z-Wave device, like the WD500Z-1 over Z-Wave. Here is a thread in the Vera site about it, that also has an explanatory YouTube video (second post).

Thanks for the response! I had seen that thread before but couldn't see the diagrams, so I signed up. I wish Almond would come up with a way to get the WT00Z-1 switch to work. Would be great in a few locations in my house.

@ scroder,

Let us know, if you are still facing the same issue even with R080 firmware and if yes, then please do hit send logs. So that I could check with our team and get back with a proper information.
