Monoprice Z-Wave Deadbolt -- can't set PIN
« on: July 25, 2015, 02:03:48 pm »
I had a defective Almond+ that I exchanged. When I first paired the deadbolt to my Almond, the interface let me set PINs for user accounts. Now, after pairing with the new Almond, there is no option for users/PINs. Just "Name" and "Location." What happened?

EDIT: the past two times I have clicked the Edit option on the lock in Connected Sensors, the touchscreen froze and I had to initiate a reboot through OpenWRT....

And after unpairing the device, I cannot add it to either my Almond or Wink, so it is effectively useless now.

Was the original device an Almond Plus and the new device an Almond? If so, there are differences in the supported sensor list. The issue describe sounds like a known issue for the Almond Plus in rev 80. and with luck will be fixed in the next firmware release.

If they were both Almond Plus devices, there was a known issue when moving from R76 and R80 that impacted locks.

A+ to A+ but it's been a while since I had it working so there were probably firmware changes in between.

I got it working again through Exclusion mode with the Wink Hub, but still bummed that I can't set PINs with Almond+. Hopefully that changes sooner rather than later.
