Amazon Dash Button - Who is getting/has one?
« on: August 18, 2015, 08:04:27 am »
Question for people:
Who has an Amazon Dash Button or is getting one?

Follow up:
What do you plan on using it for?

My thoughts:
I have pretty much no interest in getting a button that tells Amazon I want to order something. But... A $5 Wifi connected button that will connect to my network (detectable) and can thus be used to trigger things? Made even easier if/when Securifi makes it possible for Wifi devices to be in Rules? Yes please. There are already a few articles out there on using it to populate spreadsheets or trigger IFTTT. I read over the terms of use and while it is very clear that you cannot reverse engineer their software there is NO reference to altering the hardware or not fully activating them. I think Amazon is LOOKING for people to do other stuff with these as the lack of hardware mention in the agreements is pretty obvious.

Mine should arrive in a couple days. Plus they gave a $5 Prime Pantry credit for taking no rush shipping. Wish I had ordered each one individually.
