smarter rules
« on: August 26, 2015, 08:17:16 pm »
currently almond has the ability to set up a rule:
if lights are on and no motion detected
wait for 120 seconds and turn off lights

i'd like to see something smarter if motion is detected within the 120 seconds to cancel or start over.
3x Cree connected bulbs - mostly working, some toggle failures using the app; Monoprice PIR - working, waiting for temperature rules;  Trane Thermostat - working; Linear T500Z - working; 3x GE outlets - working; Aeon G2 micro switch, working.

I'd love to see this as well. The ability for one rule to override another... a precedence list if you will.

One problem with this might be some motion detectors have a reset delay. I know some are set to a 4 minute delay before it says motion has stopped even if it stopped 30 seconds after activation. So the detector wouldn't send another motion trigger to the Almond until after the 4 minute timer. Don't know if this could be worked around or not. It would be nice to see though. I'd like to see longer timers also, which would fix this for me. I could set it to if lights are on and no motion for 15 minutes then turn lights off. They reset delay on the motion detector shouldn't effect a rule like that.
