Secondary Controller Support
« on: September 25, 2015, 11:41:47 am »
Many have asked on here, but should we ever expect support for secondary controllers (Z-Wave remote controls, or zigbee maybe)? Is so, any idea of when? Maybe the A+ is support is dead, but I figure it's worth asking one last time.

A+ support dead? Nah.

I see them ignoring those that are really just venting frustration but if you ask specific technical questions about current capabilities, there is almost always a response. Not to mention you can just call them and ask about stuff.

As for secondary controllers, I am all for it. Certainly would be possible with a properly implemented and documented API.

I've been asking for months about secondary controllers. Including using another A+ or A-2015 since they would both be registered to the same cloud account. The only reply I ever got was that an A-2015 won't work as a ZigBee repeater, which has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not it could be used as a secondary controller.

I don't think support is dead, as much as the the backend is dead and support is tired of making promises of  things to come, and things being fixed  only to have it not happen .

As for secondary controller support I remember them mentioning awhile ago that we wouldn't see it until after scenes are released.

I've read all the firmware change logs, and I don't think I've ever seen it, so no.  :-\
