Set up router with no password
« on: October 17, 2015, 11:29:34 am »
Hello,

Trying to set up my Almond as a router, with no password.  I have used the wizard to set up as router, then in the Wireless settings, attempt to set up using no password.  I have tried leaving the password field blank, but I am not allowed, getting message that I must enter a password of 8 or more characters.  Looked for option to not require password but don't see one.  I have tried the same using "Guest" settings, but the same thing occurs.

I have searched the manual and the FAQ and have not found a way to set up the wireless to not require a password for access.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks, Allasso

@ KevinJones,

Almond by default comes with the mixed mode security WPA/WPA2, where we must use the password of 8 or more characters. If you are looking for creating an open network then tap on Security-->Change-->Unsecure.
