Help with Nest Thermostat
« on: December 21, 2015, 11:35:34 pm »
I am reading that it is possible to setup my Almond 2015 so that when my phone for example disconnects from my home network, then it can set my Nest Thermostat to 'Away'.  Is this true?  I added my Nest to devices on my Almond but I cannot figure out the rules to use to make this happen.  I would like for my Nest to be set to 'Away' when my phone disconnects to my home network and also to have the Nest be set to 'Home' when my phone connects to my home network.  The rules page is not as easy as it should be.  I know that they are just pictures but it just doesn't make any sense to me.  Has anybody been able to get the above features working properly?  Can somebody hold my hand through this process?  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks you.

The Rules have a page on the WiKi to help with initial setup using an example of a binary switch.

EDIT
Looks like we need a WiKi Rules page for the Almond 2015

@ Gerardog2000,

As of now, we would not be able to use the Nest Home/Away mode under Rules/Scenes, because they din't give the permission to use them.

I see.  That could be why I could not figure out how to have that happen.  Either way, thank you for your help.
