Hello, I'm moving from IRIS to Securifi
« on: February 11, 2016, 09:40:26 am »
I have been using IRIS 1st gen for about a year and half. Just got my new IRIS 2nd gen hub yesterday and was very unhappy with it. A quick search on Amazon and found Securifi Almond 2015 for $79. I'll have it tomorrow. I understand some if not all of my IRIS sensors and devices might not work but what the bunny. They don't work now with the new hub. My other option is to build a new hub using a Raspberry Pi. Still might at 35 bucks. I'll use the Almond 2015 as an Access Point behind my Sophos router UTM. (If you have kids check out the Sophos UTM for the home user.)

I could go on with how much I dislike IRIS but I'll post that on Google Play.

Thanks, David

Sadly no, the Iris ZigBee sensors are ZigBee HA 1.1 and on top of using an older ZigBee protocol, Iris put some additional layers of software in their sensors so they won't work with other HA gateways/controllers. Good call, no?  ???
