Related to CT-063W from KAB Enterprise?
« on: February 07, 2016, 02:07:17 pm »
Just curious... I stumbled upon KAB Enterprise when looking at some WIFI power outlets. In the process I found the CT-063W, of which the Advanced model sounds very much like a WIFI version (and looks almost identical) of a Peanut Plug (although those are obviously ZigBee). Just curious if there was any relation between these. This company also makes a HUGE assortment of WIFI outlets (which apparently have embedded ESP8266s according to some forums that have cracked them open).

Any opinions on whether Securifi is looking to control such things? They have indoor, outdoor, one outlet, many outlet... all sorts of versions. Plus the basic CT-063W (does not have the power monitoring of the Advanced model) sells right now for ~$15 at Walmart of all places. Getting cheap modules supported goes a long way towards expanding the ecosystem. Plus, theoretically, a WIFI method works should work just fine on an Almond or Almond+.

Here is a link to the CT-063W on the KAB site:

No, no relation at all, the Peanut plug was all in-house.

Huh... If you folks have any patents on the housing and design of the Peanut Plug you might want to buy a couple of those to break down and check for infringement.
