I have to keep killing the app to get cloud connection
« on: February 19, 2016, 01:59:34 pm »
Is anyone else experiencing cloud connection issues.  App fails to connect several times, I kill the app, sometimes twice and then it connects.

Then the next time I want to use the app, I have to repeat the process...

running 5.1.1 and the latest version of the app.

Apps can be finicky depending on what else is installed.

When I have consistent issues with a given app, I often delete and reinstall the app in question with good results.

Delete and reinstall app.

I have tried that. Im having the same behavior on an apple phone with inability to rely on the app to connect to the cloud.

Ok, that is pretty unusual.
I use both versions all day long without issue.

How does the app (either) behave when in Local mode?

If I connect locally it connects right away.

Go into Apps and clear cache and data.

Re-Login to App

You should have to setup server info again.

Yes, new iCloud Photo Library is killing my cable internet connection. It will upload for a little while, greatly slowing down my internet access until eventually it just kills my connection…

I think I figured out my problem.

Once I opened the app and it was running fine, if I chose to go back in at a later time I would reclick the app and that's where it stalled.

If I just when into the scroll list of last used applications it opens fine.

It would be nice if when the Almond app was clicked it would auto kill any other Almond processes... do an auto cleanup when service is already running.

What device are you running it on when it happens?

I don't have this problem running on an Moto X Android phone w/ Lollipop.
Nor on an iPad 2 running IOS 8.x

Are you running any kind of Task Killer in the background or something like Greenify?

Just checked another device, Moto G running 5.1 and it isn't experiencing the issues you describe.

Maybe try running your phone in Safe Mode and see if that makes a difference.
