Major bug found!
« on: March 11, 2016, 05:12:25 am »
Hey,
While disabling the range extender mode, the Almond+ restarts.
After 2 retries, I was able to switch back to Router mode.

There I found the following bug:

1. Can't change WIFI settings (channel, SSID etc).
2. There is no management IP (status -> IP -> shows <no ip>).
3. The router is connected to the Internet, but can't be accessed from anywhere on the lan.

Finally, I was able to change the mode to AP mode, and then I could access the Almond from the LAN.
WiFI settings on the web shows the following message:

No page is registered at '/admin/network/wireless/wlan1.network1'.
If this url belongs to an extension, make sure it is properly installed.
If the extension was recently installed, try removing the /tmp/luci-indexcache file.

Using version R083 (regular, not beta).

I'm gonna flash the version again. Is there any type of log that I should publish?
Thanks,
Dvir

@ dviros,

Try to perform a factory reset and then try the same, it should work fine.

Factory reset does not resolve this issue,
Only a new firmware flash.

I've dumped and backed up the Almond's firmware. do you need it?

@ divros,

We don't have any known issue like this and the firmware is being used by quite a few users. Hence, any issues with the script or file, factory reset would revert them back to the defaults. If re flashing the firmware resolved the issue then please do let us know.

I have a recent similar issue with my 2nd Almond+.  Works for about 24 hours and then it "locks up."  If the touchscreen is not locked up too, the status shows that it is connected to the internet.  However, it cannot be accessed remotely and it does not function as a range extender.  Power cycling it will work occasionally, but not always.  Have done several factory resets putting it back into range extender mode.  That always fixes the problem, but only for about a day.   Have not found a trigger for the situation.    1st Almond+ running in router mode has no issues.   (MAY try to swap them to see if it is a HW issue....  We'll see.   No WiFi even for a short time = GREATLY diminished WAF!)

Thank God the Almond+ is so easy to configure......

@Ashok

I've opened the OpenWRT screen in order to flash and also delete the configuration file while flashing.
It helped and solved this issue.
Also - another thing that used to happen is that the progress bars always hung and didn't progress.

Basically, I feel that the  Range extender mode started all of these issues on my device, and the mode changing (AP mode \ Router) does not "link back" capabilities and pages.
