Free Peanut plugs for our best users -- Contest is closed
« on: March 30, 2016, 08:03:59 pm »
We would love to hear from Almond+ customers who have a lot of sensors and or network devices. Could you let us know how many sensors, network devices, scenes and rules you have?

We'll send out a free peanut plug to our top 5 users based on the number of sensors and network devices. Please share relevant screenshots and a picture of the LCD status app. We'll keep this open for a week.

Only 18 sensors and 13 network devices at the moment.  :(
34 Rules, 16 Scenes.  :D

But I'm working on it.  ;D

Will have to check the other setups I've done for folks, they have more (20+20) but are not interested in "testing" stuff, they just want everything to work, and it does.  8)

Will forward some pics later.

@ SecureComp,

To my best knowledge, the number of sensors and network devices you got is still high and hopefully you would be one among those top 5 users. Please do send the screen shots and log files asap.

Unfortunately I'm still at just 10 sensors, 25 network devices, 2 scenes, and 14 rules.

In time......

I have 20 sensors if each bulb is counted separate, 8 scenes, 11 rules, and only 1-2 network devices.  I mainly bought and use it for the HA functions. I already had an AC router with everything hardwiring prior to the Almond+ .

Helpful hint, how to take screenshots:
https://wiki.securifi.com/index.php/How_to_take_screenshots_of_the_TouchUI_-_Almond%2B_2014

Remember, you have to goto the Almond and actually activate the screen, goto the Status Screen (shows the device count), capture it using the
Code: [Select]
screenshot /www/img.bmp command and then retrieve it using
Code: [Select]
http://10.10.10.254/img.bmp substituting the IP of your Almond device appropriately.

To get a nice grab of your PC/MAC screen;
MAC OSX, Shift+Command+4
Windows: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/use-snipping-tool-capture-screen-shots#1TC=windows-8

In this pic, not all my devices are awake yet.  8)

Screenshots on Windows are much easier than the snipping tool. Select Alt and Printscr on your keyboard.  This takes a screenshot and puts it in the clipboard. Open paint, press Ctrl V (or other method to paste) and there you are. If you want everything, not just the selected window, leave off the Alt.

For those wanting a screenshot on most versions of Android phones, press your power and volume down buttons at the same time.

One of the good things about Z-Wave and ZigBee is that you GENERALLY are not stuck with a single brand/proprietary standard. Z-Wave items are generally pretty compatible, if they are supported by the controller.
ZigBee can get a BIT pickier because some companies have chosen to add more into it which breaks easy compatibility (such as the Iris ZigBee items). That being said, most ZigBee items work fine.

I am up to 67 LAN devices as of today.
Well documented that I removed all Zigbee and Z-wave HA devices about 6 months ago because A+ could not handle the work load. I'm not sure how many of them will actually work with A+, but given a couple days I could probable put at least 30-40 , maybe 50 sensors onto A+.
If @SecureComp is high at 13, I must be off the charts. LOL

To my knowledge A+ does NOT have Echo integration ( unless I missed something I don't see it listed in Echo interface ). So your only choice would be to go with Hue Lights and Hue Hub which does have direct Echo integration and I believe can also be integrated into A+

I have 13 Sensors that are connected and one that won't connect.
Normally I have about 10-25 devices connected.
Only have 3 scenes right now and I'll add about 6 rules for lights when I'm on vacation.
