This is the first time I've tried an Ecolink sensor, it was $26 to my door with Amazon Prime.  There is a bundle sold at Staples but I didn't check into that option.

The sensor has a nice fit and finish and it paired easily.
NOTE: put the Almond in Sensor Discovery mode first, then pull the tab on the door sensor to activate the battery

The pairing had no issues, selected door sensor and it was setup as a binary switch on the A+. Battery level is indicated on the LCD as well as the IOS and Android App.

A nice thing about this sensor is that it ships with both a white and brown housing for both the sensor and the magnet.  There is also an LED indicator on the sensor which shows pairing status and open/close sensor triggers.

You can mount the sensor with the enclosed double sided tape and/or screws.

I am interested to see how this sensor will perform at sub freezing temperatures as some sensors have problems in this area. Not good if you are using the sensors for a security system.

I did have to try the pairing twice initially but only because I did not put the A+ into discovery mode per the instructions. It was simply a matter or removing the battery for 5+ seconds, put the A+ into discovery/integration mode (search for sensor) and the reinstall the battery. Found it right away, no delays.

The Ecolink Door/Window Sensor shipped with a Panasonic CR123 battery and I like the name brand battery.

Now I'm off to build some new rules and modify some existing rules.

Will followup in a couple months and report how it has been working.

Most, if not all of their sensors are made by Vision, which has some pros and some cons.

I was given a couple of these and cannot get them to pair. I'm using the latest router firmware. Tried putting in pairing mode 1st or 2nd, and also rebooted my A+. Really disappointed. Sigh!

Try resetting the sensor to factory then adding them again. Sometimes some sensors need a second chance like that.
