Is it possible to turn my Almond+ into a Hub?
« on: April 23, 2016, 03:41:18 pm »
I'm curious, is there anyway to turn the Almond+ into a hub rather than a router? If anybody could help with the settings required that'd be great. Thanks in advance!

I'm basically looking to turn the Almond+ into a hub then hook up a router to it and then 2 separate devices to the Almond+ kind of like this

                                            -> Device 1
Cable Modem -> Almond + -> Router
                                            -> Device 2

Thanks in advance

@ Wobble,

If I understand correctly, you would like to turn of the DHCP on the Almond+, so that you would get the IP addresses from the Cable modem, if yes then you can setup the Almond+ in Access Point mode.

Hey Ashok,

Yeah basically I want to turn the Almond+ into a hub. I know traditionally the access point is after the router but in this case is it possible to use it before the router? Afterwards I was looking to connect two devices to the almond itself (essentially placing them outside the firewall).

Thanks in advance!
Best Regards,
Eric
