Almond+ wireless / Ethernet Bridge Samsung tv
« on: May 23, 2016, 08:39:09 pm »
Hi I am trying to connect my Samsung TV to the wired port of an Almond+ to my Samsung TV but my TV says there is no internet connection.  I also have an Almond 2015 and when I set it up as an access point for my TV it works.   I have also connected a HTPC to the almond plus at the same time its connected to the TV and it can access the internet without any problems.  Has anyone else heard of this? or have any ideas

@ subhunter,

Most probably Samsung TV is not receiving the IP Address properly, try to setup the Almond+ in Router mode and check, if it is working fine. Apart from that you may try rebooting the Almond+ and Samsung TV one by one.

The TV is getting an IP address correctly just no internet and it works fine using the almond 2015,  just not the almond+ have tried multiple reboots of both devices even factory resetting both the Samsung smart TV and the Almond+,  could it be a feature that Almond+ has that the Almond 2015 doesn't?

Tried setting up the Almond+ as router and it works?  I have uploaded logs as router not functioning as range extender and also setup as router where it works.  Tried setting up as range extender again to see if it would now work no luck still does not allow Internet connection

Hi I also brought another Almond+ from my other location and tried it with the Samsung tv and had the same result, works as a router but not in extender mode, if I use my Almond 2015 the Samsung TV works in extender mode, any ideas?

@ subhunter,

Ideally, we shouldn't be facing any issues with the Almond+ like this and specially when Almond 2015 is working, even Almond+ should work. Just to see, if this is helping us, is it possible to give a static IP on the Samsung TV or through your main router for the Samsung and then check.

Hi so I tried assigning a static ip address to the tv and it did not work. Just to make sure I wasn't seeing things I reconnected the Almond 2015 and the TV was able to connect to the internet, I have uploaded both the Almond plus logs and the Almond 2015 logs just in case you can see something different

thanks
Gil

Update so I worked with 2nd level on the phone and we set it up in repeater mode, which works and I can now connect to the internet however I do not have visibility to the other devices on my network, will see if I can figure this out

Well got tired of fighting both routers so set them both up again as range extenders and even after doing the reset both were randomly rebooting, So I re-flashed back to R083 and they are now stable again

Any word on when or if another firmware update will be coming?  I see I am not the only one having problems with range extender mode / repeater mode
thanks
