Wink Relay price reduced and new functions
« on: August 16, 2016, 04:04:23 pm »
This is what I want to be able to use with my smart network. http://www.wink.com/products/wink-relay-touchscreen-controller/ which works as an intercom as well as a controller for the smart home. I even "built" one of these using cheap android tablets, low voltage wireless charging and magnets, but this is wayyyy better. Would love to see something similar for the almond or get this working with the almond. Anyone feel the same? I can see this being advanced even further with ip cams, door bells, etc.

Apparently the Wink Relay runs android and is basically a small tablet. Sideloading is possible but updated versions (updated in the last few weeks) have some software restrictions making it more difficult. I haven't found anyone yet who has successfully hacked it to sideload it. See this Smartthings thread.

Does the wink relay work with Almond 3 or any of the products?
