"Shenzhen ViewAt"?
« on: August 22, 2016, 07:32:26 am »
I set up the Almond+ as a range extender, connected my iPhone 6 to it then left the house. Later, from miles away, I check the almond to name my iPhone (which is, of course, inactive) and I was surprised to see that there is another connection. "Shenzhen ViewAt" is the company and it is *active* and cannot be blocked.

What is the deal with this?

Do you have an Amazon Dash? Many of mine report that as their manufacturer.

I don't. Literally no device other than my iPhone even knows the password to the almond+.

And, the iPhone isn't physically there, but the Shenzhen ViewAt device is still active and unblockable.

Do you have any way to remote in to your Almond+ to see if it shows the device? Wondering if it is a mistake from the Cloud connection. I tried setting the Allow on Network to Never for a device and it immediately got blocked for mine.

First) network devices can be any device connected to your router as you are in extender mode, not just devices connected to the almond.
Second) it is possibly the almond itself as my almond 2015 shows this as the manufacturer
