Almond 3 home automation features
« on: September 02, 2016, 11:09:24 pm »
Hi,
Apology if this has been asked somewhere else. Any information regarding Almond 3 home automation capabilities?

- is the engine comparable to Almond+?
- is the zwave dongle included?
- will there be region specific almond 3? Can I buy US version Almond 3 and use UK version zwave dongle?
- will it support IFTTT?

Thanks!

I can't answer all those questions but if the Almond 3 only supports Zigbee natively (built in) and Zigbee is universal you should be able to use it as a ZigBee hub in any country. That being said, support for non-US Z Wave dongles I don't know anything about.

- We can't compare Almond+ with Almond 3, because it doesn't come with built-in Z-wave support.
- Z-wave dongle is not included and we can use almost any Z-wave dongle (Vision, Phillio, Climax etc..) and we would also release our own Z-wave dongle at the time of Almond 3 release.
- Almond 3 by default comes with Zigbee, which is pretty universal as mparadis said, and I really don't think there would be any issue in using a different region frequency Z-wave dongle (All we have to understand is sensor and Z-wave controller should be from the same region to work).
- IFTTT is completely related to Cloud and almost all our devices support it.
