Amazon dash button and presence grace period
« on: October 31, 2016, 07:52:09 pm »
I bought an Amazon dash button so that I could use it as a switch. Basically when I push the button I want to say, turn on a light then 30 min later have it turn off. So I set the grace period for 30 minutes thinking that it would become inactive then. I was wrong the light turns off with in a few seconds. Is there anyway that has been come up with to do something like this?

Dash Buttons go inactive pretty quick by design. The grace period really just is a timeout if the Almond does not see a device go away otherwise. What you could do is:
IF Light = Off And Dash = Active THEN Light = On And Delay 30min Light = Off

That will turn it on if it was not already then turn it off automatically after 30min.
Almond 3 mesh handling the home.

Thank you for the reply. The delay command got moved in the last update and I thought it was removed. I have found it now.
