POPP Solar Powered Outdoor Siren

Has anyone had any success with the POPP Solar powered Siren and their Almond+, I've tried to pair it (as well as remove it 1st) with little success.. new to z-wave etc so any tips would be appreciated ?

Let us know what exactly happens after pairing it, does it says unsupported device on LCD or function doesn't work etc.., so that accordingly we could try our best to assist you.

Let us know the model number which would help us and also try the proper removal process first and then try adding it. If it still fails then send us the log files.

If it doesn't detect anything and it's a Z-Wave device, it normally means the two devices are for different region, as different regions use different frequencies, so the two devices wouldn't be able to see each other.

Hi all,

I have just bought the Popp Siren and was able to pair it successfully. I can trigger and silence the siren correctly and I am using the Securifi motion sensors to trigger it.

I do have the following issues:
1. The battery levels do not seem to be reported correctly (Almond+ was reporting 100% until the point at which the Siren battery run dry)
2. Temperature data from the included temperature sensor does not seem to be captured in any way by Almond+

Any ideas on what I might try to tackle the above points?

I believe the battery level needs to be manually polled, which should be done by pressing the battery image when viewing the device status but I could be mistaken. This is because the device doesn't report battery levels frequently because it wants to preserve battery.
If the temperature sensor is a different sensor that connects to the siren directly then I highly doubt it is a z wave device but rather some other protocol used to report that data to the siren. That data would need to be made available to the z wave controller (almond+) as a first step and that would depend on the siren. Then the almond+ would need to know that it is a siren and temperature sensor, don't know if that is possible.

Thank you for the tip regarding the battery acquisition, it does work.

Regarding the temperature, according to the manual, the siren sends a temperature report back to the controller every X (configurable) minutes. Even if the Almond+ is unable to interpret that data, should I still expect to see it in the device's history log?

In that case it is determined with whether the Almond+ knows this and interprets the data it is receiving. About that I do not know but it is a good start. I suspect Securifi could find a way to support it. As a note when you added the sensor to the Almond+ did it ask you to select a device type?

No, it immediately identified the device as a "siren".
In the meantime, I configured the siren to send a temperature report periodically but I do not see any entry in the device log. I'll try a few more things and get back with some feedback if I have any luck.
